In almost every old school photograph there looms a face in the pack that nobody seems to remember. Robert Carlyle is Tom Monroe, the Detective Inspector assigned to investigate the apparent suicide of Pat Fisher. A young man who he discovers was obsessed with the murder of school friends, Amy, unsolved since 1976. Compelled to take up where the dead man left off, Monroe is soon trawling through the past and being sucked into the same obsession. What he doesn't realise is that his investigation could be laying him open to attack from the same forces that have preyed on the class of '76 for almost 3 decades.
