- Synopsis:
Eighteen months since his divorce and maverick neurosurgeon Gabriel Monroe (James Nesbitt) remains at St Matthew's Hospital, still charming his patients into the operating theatre, baffling his two trainees and coming into daily conflict with heart surgeon Jenny Bremner (Sarah Parish).
But much has changed. Monroe's daring brand of brain surgery is sometimes opposed by unpredictable boss Alistair Gillespie (Neil Pearson), new nurse specialist Lizzie Clapham (Tracy-Ann Oberman) seems to have taken over patient care and anaesthetist Lawrence Shepherd (Tom Riley) is now a father.
