In his latest BBC series, Monty Halls and his trusty companion, Reuben, leave their Bristol home once again for a new adventure living on the west coast of Ireland for six months. His home is on Inishnee Island close to a tiny village called Roundstone, situated in a wild and beautiful region. Monty attempts to establish whether the pod of bottlenose dolphins seen regularly in the bay near his cottage are a resident group. He joins in the dissection of a beached whale, tags massive basking sharks, swims with a mysterious lone dolphin, and dives with curious congers. Over the Summer months Monty and Reuben also enjoy some of the regattas, festivals and culture that west Ireland has to offer. In the process they learn that the legends surrounding the warmth of the Irish welcome, and the deep traditions of Irish heritage, are very much alive and kicking in Connemara.
