- During a visit with an old friend, unhappily married alcoholic Eloise debates whether to grant her husband a divorce and ruefully recalls her prior romance with another man, which ended in tragedy and altered her life forever. Based on a story by reclusive novelist J.D. Salinger, this drama earned Oscar noms for Hayward as well as the title track, "My Foolish Heart."
