It's a new season in Equestria and Princess Luna is looking forward to her first Nightmare Night with other ponies in a long time. Meanwhile the cutie mark crusaders inadvertently unleash a terrible curse on Ponyville. Released from his prison an ancient symbol of disharmony returns to spread mayhem amongst the ponies and only the Mane 6 can stand in his way. Tasked to recover the elements of Harmony and put an end to the chaos, Twilight and her friends must see the worst of each other and themselves before they can finally confront Discord.
