It's a busy time in Ponyville as Twilight's birthday clashes with a high society event in Canterlot, it's family appreciation day at school and Rainbow decides to hold a competition for the honour of becoming her new pet! So, while Apple Bloom struggles with an embarrassing Granny Smith, the Mane 6 get together for the games as a series of fast, cool creatures... and a tortoise compete to become Rainbow's pet. But things don't go quite as planned and Rainbow, Rarity and Apple Bloom all learn that the most important quality in a pet, a relative or a friend, is not how cool they are but that they are there when you really need them.
