At seventeen, David is at odds with his foster parents and his harsh urban life. Only at the local wildlife reserve is he truly at peace...Lee Ingleby plays the sensitive and confused David with brooding intensity in this atmospheric, often gritty and shockingly violent drama. Tracing his instinctive love for animals back to the father (Paul McGann) he can picture only in the surreal visions that haunt him, he runs away in search of his missing parent. But his quest isn't just for parental love, it's for his own soul. He falls heavily for Jenny (Joanne Froggatt) - an ardent environmental activist - as well as for her cause.
