Founded in 1967 by Claude Nobs, the 'Montreux Jazz Festival' has established itself as one of the most prestigious annual music events in the world. The extraordinary list of artists who have played there is drawn from across the musical spectrum and from around the world. Now, with the consent of the festival and the artists, Eagle Vision is making these concerts available on Blu-ray for the first time. In 2012 the Neil Cowley Trio released their album "The Face of Mount Molehill" on which they recorded with a string ensemble for the first time. The subsequent tour included their debut appearance at the Montreux Jazz Festival. The show focuses primarily on "The Face of Mount Molehill" album with a scattering of tracks from their previous releases. The Trio are virtuoso musicians and Neil Cowley is a consummate live performer with a distinctively English wit and the ability to create a marvellous rapport with his audience, as ably demonstrated in the concert captured here.
