Maestro Georges Pretre crowns a 45-year association with the Vienna Philharmonic as he becomes the first ever French conductor of the New Year's Concert. This video includes all the music from a very special occasion - including many selections with a distinctly French flavour - and no fewer than six New Year's Concert premieres, as well as specially filmed images of Austria, dance sequences from Vienna, and a performance by the world famous Spanish Riding School.
