'Niagara Motel' tells the story of eight people, each struggling with a personal crisis, who all cross paths at the honeymoon town of Niagara Falls. Although the town is a romantic destination for newlyweds and a symbol of beginnings, promise and potential, this is just not the case here.
At the Niagara Motel, tragedy waltzes with comedy in an intense dance of life. The film is about people who are at the Falls for reasons other than tourism. They are all, for various reasons, in personal crisis. They are adrift, as in a fishbowl, where we can observe them thrashing, struggling and fighting for their lives. Among the ensemble cast is Anna Friel who stars as Denise, a recovering drug addict desperately trying to regain custody of her child from social services. Michael, played by Kevin Pollak, is a small-time hustler who tries to make a career out of making adult porn movies. Craig Ferguson is the motel's drunken caretaker who lives life on the edge.
