This is the saga of the bloody and prolonged battle for control of the maritime trade routes upon which Britain depended for vital supplies from all over the world during the Second World War. It is the story of the convoys across the Atlantic and the Arctic, and their never-ending fight against the German U-Boats, a fight which cost nearly 80,000 British lives and more than 70% of all U-Boat crew members. This video uses superb archive footage, rare photographic images, expert comment and analysis, and includes interviews with survivors.
