- The Onedin Line is a classic British period drama series about James Onedin (Peter Gilmore) and his life and the creation of a shipping line named after him, The Onedin Line. The series follows James, his brother Robert (Brain Rawlinson) and his sister Elizabeth (Jessica Benton) and how their lives are impacted by the shipping industry but also how these characters live in this different time. The series looks at society of the day but also the specifics of the shipping industry and how James and Robert fit into creating The Onedin Line.
