Although Oriental Dance originated in Ancient Egypt, it has been influenced by several other cultures, including Indian and Andalusian. It first became widely known of in the 20th Century through Egyptian Cinema and now many in the West have developed an interest in Oriental Dance. Oriental Dance is a spontaneous dance form, but it is being taught today as an academic discipline. Myriam Douiou has been teaching Oriental Dance for more than 14 years, and she has perfected a new method designed to enable everyone to master the movements. In this video, which follows on from Oriental Dance for Beginners, Myriam explains and demonstrates how to develop your basic skills. In a series of easy-to-follow lessons, you'll explore several dance sequences and movements, as well as seeing them all put into practice.
