It is a time of tension - of rioting in the streets. A time of change. In Oakland, California, 1968, a militant group, The Black Panthers led by Huey Newton (Marcus Chong) and Bobby Seale (Courtney B. Vance) have armed themselves and are ready to fight for freedom. To the people, they're heroes, but to the FBI are they're public Enemy Number One. Now the Feds will do everything they can-on the right or the wrong side of the law - to bring them down. Panther is like a shot in the head. It entertains, it provokes, it energises. This is a very Racially controversial movie drawing you into to what life was like during a time when a man had to fight for his life, just based on the colour of his skin. This movie depicted it so real that they were afraid that it would cause more harm than good and there were only a couple copies released before they pulled them from the selves.
