Focusing on the brave and heroic actions of ordinary people, 'Passage to Sweden' tells the story of events occurring in Scandinavia and Budapest during WWII. Sweden's geographic location and its role during the war changed the fate of thousands of Jews. Between 1940-1945 the sheer luck of where you were living made a world of difference to the Jews of Scandinavia. The Jews of Sweden, Norway, and Denmark had very different experiences. Under dire circumstances, spontaneous and dramatic rescue operations were conducted to save thousands of Jewish lives including those within Germany and Hungary. Special attention is paid to the brave citizens of Denmark, the Norwegian resistance, as well as Swedish Diplomats Raoul Wallenberg and Count Folke Bernadotte, all of whom showed exemplary courage during the darkest of times. Passage to Sweden is an inspiring film depicting decency, courage, and humanity. It highlights how anyone can make a difference.
