Chow Yun-Fat's last film before storming Hollywood, 'Peace Hotel' is a sleek and inventive collision of Eastern and Western genres. Chow is the "The King of Killers" who, after instigating a brutal massacre following the death of his wife, retires from a violent life and sets up the 'Peace Hotel', a sanctuary for those whose lives are in danger. Pledging never to throw anyone out of the hotel, The Killer's resolve is put to the test when a penniless swindler (Cecilia Yip) arrives with a lynch mob hot on her heels. With the mob threatening to storm the hotel unless he gives up the woman, The Killer is forced to choose between risking the lives of all his guests or breaking his pledge.
