Perpetrators of the crime is the darkly humorous story of three university room-mates, Ed, Phil and Jones, who decide on a desperate course of action to save themselves from the dole queue. It's the last spring break of their college life and they celebrate it by kidnapping the daughter of wealthy property developer, Mr Henderson, and asking for a cool million for her safe return. The trio don't realise it yet but they have very little chance of getting their hands on the cash, mainly because they've abducted the wrong girl! Her name is Lucy, a psycho party animal, who through her madcap behaviour has the trio running up the walls of their hideout in a remote hunting cabin miles from anywhere sane. The non-stop suspense that develops from here, and the hilarious Tarantino-style dialogue, creates all manner of entertaining surprises including a desperate search for a severed finger. If you enjoyed the Coen Brothers' Fargo then it would indeed be a crime for you to miss this razor-sharp black comedy that boasts a pulsating soundtrack and a red hot young cast!
