The 'Physical Geography' series, is a series of sixteen programs dealing with natural phenomenon such as volcanoes, earthquakes, caves, rocks, geysers and glaciers presented by Dr. Laurence J. Jankowski. The third classification of rocks are those which were formed deep in the earth's crust by melting and then recrystallization. These rocks include volcanic rocks, igneous rocks of dykes and sills and plutonic rocks such as granite, syenite, gabbro and ultramafic rocks. Many specimens are discussed that are not often found in classroom labs or textbooks. Dr. Laurence J. Jankowski is an Associate Professor at Bowling Green State University in Ohio and a member of the National Science Teachers Association and the National Association of Geology Teachers. His prior achievements include the "Science Teacher of the Year Award", from the Ohio Academy of Science and "Outstanding Professor Award" from Bowling Green State University.
