Synopsis:
BBC One's heartwarming drama proves that home really is what you make it. Frank (Larry Lamb), is struggling to find the energy or enthusiasm to run Daffodil Dunes Holiday Park on the picturesque North Wales coast; recently widowed he is feeling the loss of his beloved wife. When his flighty daughter Carys (Caroline Sheen), and grandson Dylan (William Romain), show up at his 71st birthday party and announce they are staying for good, Frank wonders if it's not time for him to just sell up and start again, especially as local estate agent, Iona Driscoll (Hayley Mills), has a very tempting offer for him to consider in more ways than one.
But Carys convinces her dad to let her become the park's new manager, prompting a flurry of hare-brained schemes as she attempts to attract new customers and appease the long-term residents the park already has. Carys also has to deal with her feelings for ex-fiancé Danny (Craig Russell), who runs the local pub with his new partner, Tanya (Lu Corfield). Can she stay away from the man she jilted at the altar?

A simple, warm family drama - Pitching In review by Ken

Spoiler Alert
28/01/2021

Not sure about this one. It starts off rather slowly and takes a while to get developed into a plot but by the end of the short series you're starting to enjoy the story and wonder how it's all going to work out. But then it stops abruptly with lots of plot lines just hanging. Will there be a series 2? The opening sequence seems to suggest events to come that haven't yet been seen so I guess there was the intention to continue but we'll just have to wait and see.

A gentle, innocuous, typically "British" series with very little if any bad language. Nice settings in the landscape of North Wales and Anglesey, a simple, warm family drama. You'll just be frustrated at the ending if there's no series 2.
