- This is a powerful New York Mafia courtroom thriller. It tells the story of a lawyer's worst nightmare - changing jobs and finding himself forced to defend the very man he has spent years of his life trying to put behind bars. Paul Dellacroce (Elias Koteas), the idealistic attorney drawn into the lucrative but shady dealings of crime boss, Joseph Scassi (Danny Aiello), who then has to make the most important decision of his career when his own brother is dragged deeper and deeper into the criminal underworld.
