Synopsis:
Caspar Richter leads the Chorus and Orchestra of the Deutsche Oper in this premiere filming of Boris Blacher's five act ballet opera, staged in 1974. Essentially a comic version of the 'Hauptmann von Köpenick' story, where a petty thief impersonates a Prussian military officer, this production substitutes the role of the thief with that of a well respected clerk,Wilhelm Fadenkreutz. Performers featured include Lisa Otto, Ivan Sardi, Manfred Röhrl and Gerti Zeumer.
