"Prime Suspect" stars Maria Bello as Detective Jane Timoney, struggling to be accepted in a male dominated homicide squad in New York. Although she is tough, smart and perceptive, Timoney is confronted by more than just hostile suspects when she is transferred to the Manhattan South Task Force. Despite having the wary support of her boss Lieutenant Sweeney (Aidan Quinn), the respect of her colleagues will be much harder to win. Determined to prove herself, Prime Suspect follows Timoney as she deals with the brutal realities of inner city crime, battles her team's misconceptions and balances her personal relationships with her ex-cop father and long-term boyfriend.
