- Synopsis:
- Husband and wife acting team, Kevin Kline and Phoebe Cates, star in this romantic comedy based on a true story set amongst the English aristocracy in 1917. Cates plays the mysterious Princess from an island near Java, who turns up one day on Mrs. Worral's manor house doorstep. No-one understands the young beauty's language but she is neverthelss treated regally and welcomed into the high society. However, doubts begin to emerge about her true origins and whether or not she is an impostor.
