All of the gang were caught, tried and sentenced but one gang member served only two years of a thirty year term before escaping from Wandsworth Prison. Overnight Ronnie Biggs (Paul Freeman) became the world's most wanted man. With even police force in the world hunting for him, Biggs changed his identity and his face; somehow managing to keep one step ahead of his pursuers. He finally found sanctuary in Brazil in the arms of Rio's dusky carnival maidens and out of reach of the long arm of the British law...
