- Synopsis:
Sometimes You Can Go Home...Again. Dr. Sydney Hansen (Melina Kanakaredes), a bright, attractive thirty-something year old, entered the field of cosmetic surgery with noble altruistic ambitions, but several years of performing collagen lip treatments and nose jobs for celebrities and overprivileged teenagers in Los Angeles begin to erode her sense of purpose. Sydney's disenchantment with her career specialty, combined with a relationship breakup and a family crisis, prompts her to return to her hometown, Providence, Rhode Island, and find fulfillment in working in a low-income medical clinic. Written and created by John Masius, the co-creator of "Touched by an Angel" and the executive producer of "St. Elsewhere," the series is a whimsical, yet heartfelt look at life through the eyes of one of the freshest characters you'll meet. Sydney's new life may not always be smooth, but it promises never to be dull.
