- Popular American science fiction with comedy and drama elements Quantum Leap follows Dr. Sam Beckett (Scott Bakula) as a scientist from the near future that, following a misguided experiment, becomes lost in time. In each episode Beckett takes the place of a person in history, re-enacting their lives in an attempt to put right any and all wrongs that have taken place in the future.
