Marion County 1938 is a chamber suite commissioned from Rachel Grimes in 2010 by the Center for Home Movies for the silent film 'Our Day' by Wallace Kelly of Lebanon, KY. This film and soundtrack was the closing work in the feature length 35 mm film collection by Dwight Swanson called "Amateur Night" highlighting amateur short films from American archives, including short home movies by Richard Nixon and Alfred Hitchcock. Recorded live in a church sanctuary with oboe, clarinet, strings, harp, and piano, Marion County 1938 was released as a tour EP in the fall of 2011.
