Each year an average of a thousand tornadoes touch down in America, more than in the rest of the world put together and no two tornadoes are ever the same varying in size, shape and power. In Tornado stunning photography combined with state of the art computer imagery and personal stories show the effects that tornadoes have on the lives of millions of people who live in the wide open landscape of the great plains of America. This area, which is known as Tornado Alley, experiences some of the most powerful and devastating winds on Earth. Here tornadoes can reach speeds of up to 300 mph and towns can be reduced to rubble in seconds.
