- A radiation leak wipes out the crew of the mining ship Red Dwarf leaving one survivor - chicken soup machine repairman Dave Lister (Craig Charles). After three million years in suspended animation, Lister emerges to find he is the last human being in the universe. But he is not alone.

Red Dwarf - The Original is Best - Red Dwarf: Series 1 review by CP Customer
First series, and although some references may be slightly dated and the sets might be a bit flimsy it justs adds to the charm of the show. Great gags and slapstick humour, and the rarest thing in a sitcom, something original.
The idea of being frozen in time for 3 million years, a quirky AI computer that has gone a 'bit peculiar' after 3 million years, a being that has evolved from a cat and is therefore obsessed with his appearance - these are some of the ideas that make the show so distinctive and amusing. Very easy watching.
