Documentary telling the story of the doomed landing at Gallipoli in 1915 by Allied forces trying to gain strategic advantage in the First World War. Bogged down in battle on the peninsula for close to nine months, many thousands of men died before the British led forces staged a withdrawal, an episode which caused damage to the reputation of one of the invasion's planners, Winston Churchill. Told through its three main presenters from a British, Irish and Turkish perspective, this documentary takes a wide ranging look at an important military conflict.
