Revenant takes familiar themes from the vampire genre and approaches them from a twisted perspective by transporting a coven of modern day vampires into a modern Los Angeles setting. The plot, which involves 'Dallas' a hip cigar smoking vampire who cruises around in his muscle car and 'Van Helsing' with his black gangster posse of vampire killers is both utterly bizarre and sublime. If you like vampire films, and have a sense of humour then chances are you'll love 'Revenant' as it gives you the chance to see vampires in a lighter hearted manor than usual. Instead of portraying vampires as deadly serious antisocial creatures of the night, they're portrayed as witty, sociable, family and friend oriented people, who instead of living as an isolated minority live alongside humans, from lowly trailer parks to the socially privileged suburbs of L.A. Overall, 'Revenant' is a funny and quirky take on the lives of vampires and well worth a look.
