- Synopsis:
- A British-made biopic of Cecil Rhodes (Walter Huston), the man whom the African territory Rhodesia (now Zambia and Zimbabwe) was named after. Rhodes, a strong proponent of colonialism, discovered the world's most profitable diamond mine and became a politician and founder of the Rhodes Scholarship In the late 1800s. The film Is also known as "Rhodes of Africa". Directed by Berthold Vlertel and Goeffrey Barkas. Written by Leslie Arliss, Michael Barringer and Miles Malleson. Adapted from the book by Sarah Gertrude Mlllln. Cinematography by Bernard Knowles and S. R. Bonnett.
