Australian drama based on true events. Set in 1978, the film follows a group of activists as they set out to finally achieve the decriminalisation of homosexuality in Australia. In an attempt to gain positive publicity for their cause and push the wider public into recognising love between gay couples, they organise the first ever gay and lesbian led Mardi Gras. Expecting it to be a celebration of homosexuality, they unexpectedly run into a police presence which does not take kindly to their protest.
