Suraj (Anil Kapoor) and Karan (child) are a father and son, whose relationship is very wonderful. Suraj can do anything for his son. In his son's adoration Suraj finds his heaven. In his father's love, Karan finds his world. Komal (Karishma Kapoor) a violin player, who is a wife and mother and yet cannot be both. Once upon a time Suraj and Komal were very happy. But one fateful day everything changed.They started staying apart. A child was denied his mother. A family became incomplete in their lives are a scheming father, a mercenary woman, a vile lawyer. Each of who play a vital role in shaping the destiny of Suraj, Komal and Karan. But the most integral role, is that of the Vyjanthi (Shilpa Shetty). Rishtey is a story where emotion and entertainment meet each other half way. Where when the eyes get moist, there is something to laugh about.
