- Synopsis:
- Roseland is made up of three stories, sometimes connecting, all set in the famed New York dance palace. In "The Waltz" a grieving widow is given one last unexpected shot at happiness. In "The Hustle" three women compete for the attentions of a charming but feckless gigolo. In "The Peabody" the irrepressible Rosa, an elderly Viennese refugee, literally whirls her skinny little dance partner into the grave. Interwoven with these stories are glimpses of the real-life Roseland: dance competitions, socialising, and people - young and old - searching for the right partner.
