Mark Lester and Oscar winner Sir John Mills star in this touching and beautiful story of a lost young boy and his search for love, set amidst the wild splendour of Dartmoor. Neglected by his parents, Philip Ransome (Mark Lester) is a sad and deeply troubled ten-year-old who spends his days roaming the solitary wilds of Dartmoor. Then he stumbles upon a wild white colt and forms a bond with the ' horse, bringing meaning into his life once more. He is also befriended by a kindly old colonel (John Mills) and a young girl (Fiona Fullerton), whose magnificent pet falcon opens Philips eyes still further to the beauty of nature.
