Sarajevo in the middle of civil war. Adis (Almedin Leleta) and Kerim (Almir Podgorica), seven and nine years old, hide in the house of the poet Hamza (Mustafa Nadarevic). The two brothers have lost their family in a massacre and are now looking for their aunt Aisha, who alone was able to escape to Germany. Hamza, who has sent away his wife and daughter from the destroyed Sarajevo, struggles to help the boys. They share bread, take on an injured dog and grow fond of each other. Can they separate when the shelling starts again and German exile beckons?
