This powerful, heart-warming drama tells the true story of a family's fight to prove its innocence when it is ripped apart by a cruel accusation of crime. As poor farmers in the 1950's in the American South, Kitty and George Messenger and their five children survive only through their happiness in being together and their dreams for a brighter future. That happiness is shattered, however, when Kitty and George are wrongly arrested by the local sheriff and sentenced to long terms in labour camps. With their children on the run or placed in grim juvenile homes, their only hope of overcoming their nightmare and reuniting their scattered family is pinned on Kitty's considerable courage. - Actors:
