Opening scene - Scorched review by JD

Spoiler Alert

For me the best scene is while the opening credits are still rolling. It is a joke of brilliance. 5 stars on its own but the rest of the film does not live up to it. Get the film just for the first 5 minutes then eject.

Pretty average comedy - Scorched review by CP Customer

Spoiler Alert

Set in small town USA, this is the story of a bunch of people who happen to work in, or be involved with, the local bank. The manager is a bit of a gormless idiot who treats his employees badly and thinks he can get away with it. Unbeknown to him, some of his employees are planning to (individually) rob the bank, whilst others just make the most of opportunities which come their way. Will they get away with it or not? It was a good premise but the reality was a tad mediocre. There are a few funny slapstick moments, although I found some of the animal 'violence' rather offensive. No one's performance is really very good, although I suppose Woody Harrelson was the best of the bunch. Shame to see John Cleese wasted in his part. The whole thing could have been so much better, but it would need some script re-working. Overall, OK if you have nothing else to watch.
