This program has been developed following many years of work with people with reduced mobility, restricted balance and wheel chair users. The content of this DVD includes: Seated chi-kung Tai chi for health and well-being, A section on Tai Chi for self-defence A section on relaxation. All the people in the DVD are actual students who live with their chronic conditions and who currently benefit from the practice of tai chi & chi-kung. The content is suitable for home study and to support attendance of a regular tai chi class. It is suitable for complete beginners and will enable you, the viewer, to progress at a pace that suits you. Tai Chi & chi-kung are holistic systems and use a whole body and mind approach to well-being. The instructor for the DVD, Mark Peters, has worked extensively with hospitals and support groups for over 15 years and has successfully adapted tai chi to suit numerous group including, Cardiac patients, pulmonary patients (COPD), falls prevention, eating disorders, mental health, pain management, Chronic fatigue (CFS, ME), multiple sclerosis (MS) and more... To support these groups in the community he and his wife, Jenny Peters (senior nurse), formed a not for profit organisation called Painting the Rainbow. Their unique approach is highly sort after and they regular run training courses for hospital staff throughout the country.
