- A powerful psychological thriller from acclaimed director Joseph Losey starring Elizabeth Taylor, Mia Farrow and Robert Mitchum. An unbalanced girl becomes convinced that ageing prostitute Leonora is her dead mother. Grieving the recent death of her own daughter, Leonora plays out the pretence, and a bizarre relationship begins to form between the two women. Yet soon the brute force of reality descends as secrets from the past unfold, threatening their fragile dream world.

I kept watching the movie thinking there would be a twist but that didnt come. I did't seethe point of the ending or understand it really.

Dated and disappointing - Secret Ceremony review by CSF
I have always loved and admired Joseph Losey but certainly not for that film. The characters are not credible anymore after 20 minutes. The story is not sophisticated enough for the 21st Century. At the end, I felt that the story was pointless.
