In the second series of this critically acclaimed comedy drama, Joanna Lumley returns as Davina Jackson, a glamorous and mildly bohemian sixty-something, now a widow coming to terms with loss and love. Al's fatal heart attack leaves Davina feeling alone and racked with guilt. But, a six months stay with her ultra-confident sister Veronica (who blames her for everything) is enough to force her to re-launch her life. Escaping from self-loathing, preying men and disapproving women, Davina moves to a houseboat in Chelsea, finds a new man in personal shopper, Tom, and even subjects herself to a weekend course to get in touch with her "inner goddess". But even as Davina attempts to find some inner calm, the lives of those around her seem to be disintegrating or spinning out of control: her brother-in-law languishes in prison; Orlando, her son, is marrying a woman 30 years his senior and her friend Lizzie decides her 17,532 day wait - for something - is over. Is there any way out of this world of crushing disappointment, quiet desperation and wasted lives for a woman who still has a life to live?
