A fascinating programme showing a wide range of beautiful English windmills, from the wooden post and smock mills of Chaucer's time to the stately nineteenth-century brick-built tower mills. Also featured is a mill controlling water levels at a nationally famous nature reserve. Some of these mills have been restored, some are shown working, but all are evidence of a time long gone when the windmill reigned supreme.
