I NEVER REALLY WATCHED THE PROGRAMME,BUT I REALLY ENJOYED THE MOVIE.
Very good overall - though lacking some of the spark that was in the tv series.
You will need a hanky!
Avoiding the Sex And the City phenomenon is a difficult task, and Moviestyle managed to duck the theatrical release only to finally give into the Blu Ray edition. After all, if your partner is willing to watch your latest World Cinema purchase, then you should give a little back. The film allows us to catch up with the main protagonists, who are older but not that much wiser. As a stand-alone piece it actually works; fans will certainly enjoy it more but if anything this may prompt a whole new legion to obtain the television box sets. The sheer length of the film was a worry initially, but the depth and detail of the characterisation results a constantly evolving storyline. The picture quality on this Blu Ray is excellent; the girls push the palate to extremes with their recession busting wardrobe acquisitions. Colours are vibrant, solid and the timeline covers Mexican summers to Manhattan winters, providing a visual spectacle way beyond the television series.
