Director Burt P. Regis Toomey gives a wonderful portrayal of a resourceful young inspector who relies on modern deductive methods to solve cases. Enchanting Esther Ralstien is tailor-made for her role as a rebellious and fun loving young lady who is seldom out of trouble or the newspaper headlines. The inclusion of several Chinese names in the cast and the oriental atmosphere in the opening scenes make an effective setting for the plot. Extensive use of then-modern gadgetry like the telephone, wireless radio and aeroplanes combine with lively dialogues sprinkled generously with humor to hold the narrative together.
