Synopsis:
Sheffield Wednesday 2013/14 Season Review Having secured promotion in 2012 this was a season in which Wednesday needed to cement their position as a Championship team and build on the success of previous campaigns. After a difficult start to the campaign, Owls had to wait until November to secure their first victory, but they did so in emphatic style, beating promotion contenders Reading 5-2. A change of manager saw Stuart Gray take the helm, and the team responded by beating eventual league champions Leicester City 2-1 thanks to a brace from Connor Wikham. From January Wednesday really sprung into life - a memorable 6-0 thrashing over Yorkshire rivals Leeds United gave Gray's team real confidence and results against the likes of QPR, Brighton and Bournemouth saw Owls finish the season in a strong position from which to build for the campaign ahead.
