Created by the writing partnership of Laurence Marks and Maurice Gran who went on to create such comedy classics as 'Birds of a Feather' and 'Goodnight Sweetheart'. Originally broadcast on ITV in 1985, 'Shine on Harvey Moon' features a superb cast including Kenneth Cranham, Elizabeth Spriggs, Maggie Steed, Pauline Quirke, Linda Robson and Nigel Planer. More than just a comedy series, Shine on Harvey Moon was also an entertaining historical record of changing attitudes and changing lifestyles in a drastically changed world. It is 1947 and the wedding of Queen Elizabeth II to Prince Philip of Greece is creating much excitement for the extended Moon family and Maggie and Veronica camp out overnight to watch the procession. Harvey takes on a new role when he is given a committee chairmanship but his impending divorce causes concern. Harvey and Frieda are still dating but he's frequently jealous of her male friends. Mrs Moon is still hoping to meet the right bloke but it seems that Veronica already has - but cannot remember who he is!
