- It's Marnie McBride's 11th birthday and her life is about to change forever. Entering an old junk shop she discovers a dusty shoebox. Inside are four beautifully carved animals that unexpectedly spring to life at her command. Marnie doesn't know it yet, but it's her fate to be touched by dangerous and irresistible magic.
