- Synopsis:
- Alan Howard (Dirk Bogarde) arrives in Kenya to visit his older brother on his farm. Met at the airport by his old friend Mary (Virginia McKenna), they arrive at the farm only to find Alan's brother brutally murdered by 'Simba' the alleged leader of the Kenyan freedom fighters, the Mau Mau. Alan decides to take over his brother's farm and fight the rebels and revenge his death. Mary and Alan begin to fall in love, but she is troubled by his hatred of the native Kenyans and thirst for vengeance.
