Sino-Japanese War

Generalissimo Chiang Kai Shek, head of the Chinese government, has firmly rejected proposals by the communists that they and the nationalists should join forces to fight against the Japanese invaders. With Japanese troops currently occupying parts of the country, Generalissimo Chiang considers that the threat of a communist takeover is more dangerous Chiang does not trust Tse-Tung, who calls his troops 'The National Rocovery Guard'. Under the cloak of fighting a patriotic war, Mao and his reds, Chiang believes, would attempt to impose a Communist government on China.
